Qatar 2022 Stadium Bus Service Options

Using data that was used for the 2021 Arab Cup, we found that there are two bus services providing roundtrip transport to stadiums from Doha (in addition to the rail system). We know how close the stadiums are but you can now see specifics for a public transportation option.

Here are a few highlights from the Arab Cup (and hope it is similar for the World Cup):

  • Free Service for Fans w/ Tickets
    • Must have a Fan ID (or “Hay’ya Card“)
    • Operation starts 4 hours before kickoff
    • Operation stops 1.5 hours after match ends
  • Buses provide direct service between the station and stadium
  • It is advised fans leave no later than 1 hour before kickoff

There is a difference of 10 or so minutes to stadiums based on which Doha bus service you use so please look below!

Khalifa Street Bus Hub

Hub to Stadium Distances:

  • Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium – 45 minutes
  • Al Bayt Stadium – 55 minutes
  • Al Janoub Stadium – 45 minutes
  • Al Thumana Stadium – 30 minutes
  • Education City Stadium – 30 minutes
  • Stadium 974 – 45 minutes

We assume these time estimates are likely based on average traffic conditions – and there’s nothing average about World Cup traffic conditions.
